Washington, DC; January 10, 2022—The Investment Company Institute Education Foundation (ICIEF) is excited to award two grants through its partnership with the Toigo Foundation. The recipients, Jessica Liang, MBA candidate at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business (class of 2023), and Joel Sebagala, MBA candidate at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business (class of 2023), will use their grants to further support their education and professional development in the finance industry.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Toigo Foundation to award these scholarships to Jessica and Joel,” said ICIEF President Tracey Wingate. “Both fellows show great promise and embody our commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive financial services industry. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Toigo Foundation and helping nurture career advancement and leadership of underrepresented talent in the industry.”
“This scholarship provides incredibly helpful financial support towards my education, as well as invaluable exposure to other investment management professionals,” said Liang. “With the increasing focus on diversity and inclusion, I look forward to helping create a culture of comfort and belonging as I begin my career on the distribution side of the asset management industry.”
“Thank you to the ICI Education Foundation and the Toigo Foundation for awarding me this grant,” added Sebagala. “This scholarship will help me work towards my goal of establishing a career in investing and producing long-term sustainable growth for clients. I will continue to advocate for financial inclusivity and for increased representation of diverse voices throughout the industry.”
